Dr. Michael Frey of Comprehensive Psychological Services will discuss, "Emotional Regulation: Helping Your Special Needs Child Cope with Frustration and Disappointment" on Tuesday, January 10, 2006. Dr. Frey will help you to understand the negative emotional states that affect children, how to respond to these challenging situations, and how to encourage your child to take positive advantage of these opportunities to learn coping skills.
Dr. Michael Frey completed his graduate training at DePaul University
in Clinical Child Psychology and his internship at Rush-Presbyterian
Medical Center in Chicago. Currently in private practice in Arlington
Heights, IL, Dr. Frey’s areas of interest include Autistic Spectrum
Disorders, Attention Deficit and Learning Disorders, Tourette’s
Syndrome, childhood behavioral problems, traumatic brain injury, and
chronic illness.
Special Kids/Special Families is a support group for parents of
children with special needs. We meet at the at The JCYS Northwest
Family Center, 1700 Weiland Road, Buffalo Grove from 7 to 9:00 p.m.
